Hendrix

Hi Virginia! Hendrix is doing great! We had our first vet check-up, and other than a bit more medicine for his cough he is good to go! As you can see, we havent picked out a new name for him...although we thought about it, the name suits him fairly well, and he answers to it! :) He already has a schedule, we have only had one "potty training" issue, but he is pretty much completely house broken! He is enjoying his new playmates (our cats and the boys) and is starting to loosen up a litlle. Thanks for checking in with us, he is a perfect fit for our family! Kirsten

Pierre
Pierre

Virginia Things are overall very good and Pierre is very easy going, he appears to be house trained. He is very sweet and acts like he had been with us for a long time. He enjoys the morning walk a lot. Tyson ( the boxer) is very good, relationship with Picsou( the frenchie) are improving. We had a couple of fights over toys and who should be sitting on the coach with us. They are still trying to decide who will be the boss but things are improving and they now play very well together. Health wise, the kennel cough is gone. He eats very well and the diarrhea he had at the beginning is completely gone. Unfortunately, I believe that Pierre probably suffers from Atopic Dermatitis. I did not notice it at first but his skin is very red and he hitches and scratches a lot. I will have him tested this week for allergies so we can try to de sensitise him. Hopefully it will work so we will not have to put him on any medication. I will keep you posted with the matter. Gilles Guillemette

Hi Tracey! Just wanted to let you know that Darby is doing great! She's a fantastic puppy and has the best attitude toward everything! We even took her along trick-or-treating last night, and she had a blast. She is doing great indoors too, staying close but not clingy at all. I don't have to worry about her much - she has the typical puppy attraction to anything she can chew (shoes are a magnet!) but that has had the benefit of prompting my kids to keep their stuff picked up! :o) We've given her lots of toys to choose from, and she gives up the "wrong" chewie for one of her toys easily. Her favorites are a Nylabone puppy bone and a big frayed rope sheep chew toy. She loves our kids, and they love her too. Our son has already been working with her on Sit and Down, and she even will sit for our 8 year old daughter. I just can't say enough about what a joy she is to have in our family! I will be taking her to the vet on Monday and am wondering if you were able to make copies of the vet records for her stay with you. I know they would like to know specifically what was already done, and I don't remember all the vacc's. and dates. I know your days have a fair amount of stress & sadness lately, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your work with the homeless animals. You have made a big difference in our lives and also Darby's! Know that she is well loved and will have a great life! I hope her sisters have the same good fortune. I actually had several people comment on how good she is already - and one was our chief of police. Sending a few photos with this too. Thank you again, Lori, Myron, Aaron & Rachel

Spade
Spade

Hi Vona! I just wanted to update you on Spade. He's been doing great! He just graduated yesterday from Petsmarts Beginner's class. He's just so darn smart. He goes to doggie daycamp every Saturday and gets to meet new friends and then come home exhausted and falls asleep while chewing a bone. haha. On his last vet visit they determined that he is actually a Border Collie/Retriever mix which explains the coat. He gets along great with other dogs and is so gentle with the smaller ones. He has a best bud on our block, a Minpin named Rudy. It's pretty funny watching the two of them together. We're still trying to get him to be more comfortable around humans, the only ones that he feels comfortable around so far are me, my mom, Matthew, and my mom's twin Harolyn. She says however that being with us has definitly helped him gain his confidence and with some patience and work he should be able to overcome it. Overall though he is a very happy and spoiled little pup indeed. We all absolutely adore him and thank you again for helping bring him into our lives. Sincerely, Cortney, Carolyn, Matthew, and Spade.
