T.A.R.A. Member and Volunteer Statement of Beliefs:

As a volunteer with The Animal Rescue Alliance, it is important that you share in our mission and are a good representation of the group to the public at large.  Because it is imperative that our mission be upheld and not undermined by any of our members we are asking that, before you decide to volunteer,  you read our mission and the following statements and be sure that you are in agreement and will follow them at all times.

    The Animal Rescue Alliance's Mission:

    1)   To rescue, rehabilitate, rehome or transfer homeless or unwanted pets.

    2)   To educate the public and prospective pet owners on responsible pet ownership.

    3)   To reduce pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all pets and encouraging others to do the  same.

In pursuit of the above stated mission, I agree that:

    1)    All breeding is irresponsible.  I will not breed any animal in my care.  I will not condone nor help with the breeding of any animal which includes buying a pet from a breeder or a pet store.

    2)    All animals in my care will be altered by the age of 6 months.  The only exception is for  rescued nursing mothers I am fostering, which will be altered as soon as possible.

    3)    Pets deserve to be loved members of the family.  We do not condone having exclusively outdoor pets, regardless of age, breed or size.

    4)    All animals in my care should be treated humanely, including, but not limited to, providing proper nutrition, shelter, medical care, socialization, and love.

    5)   Our volunteers will respect Tara’s memory and our group by keeping internal matters private and not spreading false or negative information about the group or its members.

    Not Enough Homes

Considering the current situation, TARA does NOT support any form of breeding.

Shelters are overflowing with pets in need.

There is NO excuse to add more to an already over-saturated market.
